2016 Bookish Recap Tag

Hey everyone!! Merry Christmas and happy New Year! (late) Can you believe it's January 6th already? And that it's 2017?!?! Where is time going?!?!?! Okay, sorry, I'm being too dramatic. :/

I was tagged by Jesseca @ Whimsical Writings for His Glory to do the "Bookish Recap Post" and even though we are already well through the New Year, I'm still going to do it. :)

Rules.
-- Include the above button in your post.
-- Answer the 11 questions.
-- Use as many book covers as you like. (The correct answer to this question would be ALOT. B-))
-- Tag 5-10 people and notify them that they have been tagged.

Questions.

// How many books did you read in 2016? (Exact if you know, or approximate if not.)
I read a grand total of 48 books. I know that doesn't seem like that many, but for a slow reader like me...that's a ton. :)

// Did you set a reading challenge for yourself and, if so, did you meet it?
I did and I actually met it...barely. I challenged myself to read 45 books.

// What was your most read genre this year? Least read?
I'm pretty sure it was fantasy that I read the most of and self-help books that I read the least.

// What's five of your favorite books from 2016?
This is going to prove to be a little bit of a challenge...
1.) The False Prince by Jennifer A. Nielsen
2.) The Destiny of One by Sarah Holman (the whole series;))
3.)  Dear Mr. Knightley by Katherine Reay
4.) Heidel by Anita Valle
5.) The Silent Blade by Jesseca Wheaton

// What's five of your least favorite books from 2016?
I had a hard time coming up with even four because I normally don't read books that I know I won't like.

1.) Four days in April by Maria Grace
2.) Ireland Rose by Patricia Strefling
3.) Distorted Glass by Sarah Holman
4.) Letters from a Scatter-Brained Sister by Amanda Tero

// What new favorite author did you discover? (Not necessarily that the author is 'new', but that they became new to you this year.)
Jennifer A. Nielsen! Her writing style keeps you on pens and needles. =D

// What's five of your favorite book covers from the year?
Books I read or covers I found? I'm going to do both. ;)

The Old River Road (Long Lake Legacy, #1)IntermissionBeyond the HorizonMaggie's KitchenA Love to Come Home To (A Time of Grace #3)

// How many books did you purchase for yourself in 2016? (Exact if you know, approximate if not.)
Uh...hehe...ummm...duuhhh...That is an un-answerable question. I know I went to a library book sale and bought 20 books at one time and I've been doing a ton of shopping, my bookshelf is reaching it's limit. I'm going to guess close to 89 books. Yeah, sounds good. ;)

// What's the longest book you read in 2016?
Resistance by Jaye L. Knight, a total of 524 pages.

// What's the shortest book you read in 2016?
Letters from a Scatter-Brained Sister by Amanda Tero, a total of 25 pages.

// What's your reading goal for 2017?
I challenged myself to 48 this year, almost one per week. We'll see how this goes. ;)

Now, I'm going to skip over the part about tagging people just because it's already the new year and I doubt anyone would want to do this post so late. But if I'm wrong and there is someone out there that wants to do this tag, please go right ahead! Comment below with a link so I can read your post.

Have a great New Year everyone!! =)
