The Solid Rock Blog Tour!

TSR Release Banner FB and Blog

I am excited to be part of this blog tour for a new Christian Western! Faith Blum joins us today to talk about her new release, The Solid Rock. It is about a talented detective with a mission to find his kidnapped colleague who finds himself working undercover with a heinous outlaw who has more plans than first meet the eye.

About the Book

3D The Solid

Rock
Joshua woke with a quiet groan. As his senses woke up one at a time, he cracked his eyelids open. Sure enough, there was a silhouetted form standing at the foot of the bed. From the smell, the person was either from the brothel down the street or had recently left one. He forced himself to breathe evenly and reached for the knife in his thigh holster. With as tough and evil a voice as he could imitate, he spoke, “State your intentions.” Pinkerton detective, Joshua Brookings, is sent on a job that seems simple on the surface. His fellow detective has been kidnapped and his boss, William Pinkerton senses foul play. Joshua is sent to investigate Edward's case in hopes of finding the kidnapped detective and helping solve the case that has taken over ten years to investigate. Arriving in Cheyenne, Joshua finds much more than a simple kidnapping. Yet again, he must go undercover, something he made his boss promise never to make him do again. The only Christian in the outlaw group, Joshua falters and almost loses faith in God’s providence. Will he stand on the solid Rock or drown in the sinking sand?

Book Review ~ The False Prince, Jennifer A. Nielsen

Title: The False Prince
Author: Jennifer A. Nielsen
Series: The Ascendance Trilogy
Stars: 5 out of 5

This book is totally AWESOME!!!!!
It started a bit slow, but the second half more than made up for that. As I write this review I'll try not to give away any spoilers. ;)

The characters are well written. I was thoroughly surprised how well the author wrote the main character, Sage, story. The False Prince is Sage's story--his point of view--but the author hid basically everything Sage knew from the reader until the end. There were times when a few hours time would pass and you wouldn't even realize that the author didn't say what happened in the time period until you find out later. It was totally incredible!

Oh, I just so loved this book!!! Especially the ending! I will admit that I was up late, in a dark house, reading until I finished the book. It was worth it though.

I recommend this book to everyone! Even if you hate reading you have no excuse, you have to read this book! Period.

Book Review ~ Resistance, Jaye L. Knight

Title: Resistance
Author: Jaye L. Knight
Series: The Ilyon Chronicles
Stars: 4 out of 5

Where do I even start to write this review! Even though I rated it only 4 stars that doesn't mean I didn't think it was just plain awesome!!! It was down-right awesome!

I absolutely adore Jaye's writing style. It was so easy to connect with the characters and made it easy to understand what they were going through.

The only reason I rated it 4 stars instead of 5 was because of the whole storyline. I know it's only the first book and it's building a strong beginning to the rest of the series, but it just seemed a bit slow. The way it was written helped to draw the reader in, but there really wasn't much to the plot. It's still an enjoyable read though.

Now I just have to rave about that ending for a second! That ending "speech" was awesome to read! I got all giddy inside! Beautiful!!

This whole book is beautiful! If you love Christian Fantasy, you would probably enjoy this read. I can hardly want to read the rest of the series!

Book Review ~ The Heart of Arcrea, Nicole Sager

I'm so excited to finally write my review for The Heart of Arcrea! It's been a long time in the coming.

Title: The Heart of Arcrea
Author: Nicole Sager
Series: The Arcrean Conquest
Stars: 5 out of 5
I just want to say, right from the get-go, that this book is a great beginning to this Christian Fantasy series. Even though it starts out a bit slow, the rest of the book makes up for it after you get going. Nicole has “a way with words” you could say.

The characters are awesome; I laughed out loud a few times with Nathaniel, my heart broke with Renny and I was in there teasing Bracy right along with Talon. It was a joy to see all the characters personalities bought out and see them grow in their walk with Christ.

The whole plot and message isn’t something simple, but Nicole did a great job of bringing the whole story to light. I was thoroughly intrigued.

I highly recommend this book and the whole series.

The Spectacular Book Tag

Hi everyone! Jesseca from Whimsical Writings tagged me for The Spectacular Book Tag!
Thanks, Jesseca!!

The Rules:

1. Answer the questions
2. Tag 3 to 5 bloggers

1. What are your favorite book covers?
I have so many favorite covers, so I'll try to keep it short.

Image result for interrupted life beyond words

Image result for Dear mr. knightley

Image result for Burdney

2. What are your favorite book titles?
Here's just a few-
Chasing Jupiter
The Sherwood Ring
Kate's Innocence
Where Shadows Lie

3. Have you read a book and didn't know why they named it that and what was the title?
No, I don't think I have...

4. Have you read a book with a character that made you mad?
There's always that villain that gets on my nerves, but I don't think there's any that really made me mad.

5. Is there someone or something from a book you would never want to come across?
Yes, I never want to come across any of the vicious beast from the Arcrean Conquest!

6. If you could meet a character in person from a book who would it be?
Sam Carroll!!! From Interrupted.
Or I'll love to meet Talon and Bracy from the Arcrean Conquest.

7. What book are you currently reading?
I'm "reading" a lot of books right now, but the only one I'm working on is
"Resistance" by Jaye L. Knight.

8. Have you read a book that made you cry?
Not literately, but I've read several that made me cry on the inside like, "Interrupted",
"Becoming Heather", and "The Raider's Promise."

9. What is the weirdest book you read?
I haven't read that many "weird" books, but I thought "Where Shadows Lie" was a little interesting.

10. What is the worst book/series you ever read?
I was really disappointed with "God's Daughter", but it wasn't the worst book. The Bell Mountain series isn't bad, but I only read the first book and haven't been interested in reading the rest of the series.

11. If you could only read one more book the entire year what would it be?
I'm assuming that the Bible doesn't count for an answer, so... That's a very hard question! I'll probably say it's a tie between "Interrupted" and "Burdney".

Since I'm new to the blogging world--and I'm not sure who to tag--I'm going to say that whoever that wants to do this tag is tagged! Just comment with a link so I can see your answers! ;)
