Book Review ~ Diamond, Paul Willis

Diamond (The Greywood Files, #1)

About the book:

When Detective Greywood gets a midnight case from a forgetful friend, he thinks it’s just another robbery. But when he learns his client stored the world’s eighth largest diamond in a highly secure bank vault, he knows there must be much more to the case. Only the owner himself could retrieve the diamond.

A short story containing odd friends, two eventful dinner parties, and a coffee fueled detective.

My review:

Title: Diamond
Author: Paul Willis
Series: The Greywood Files
Stars: 5 out of 5

A quick read with a lot of fast action. If you have a moment when you feel like a thrill, this would be the book for you. The plot is to the point and the characters are very sophisticated.

As is the case with all short stories, there isn't time for the characters to be well introduced, which was quite a shame. I would of loved to have understood the main character's perspective better.

The mystery was obviously well thought out on the author's part, which helped add to the reader's enjoyment. Not too deep and losing the reader's attention, but not shallow and making you wish relief from your boredom. Just right and leaves you waiting for more.

Excellently done.
